Dawn
Ringrose draws on practical and academic
experience to serve clients in the tourism & hospitality
sector.
Prior to consulting, she worked in staff and management positions
at food service, accommodation, leisure, and recreation
establishments. Thereafter, Dawn built on this
practical experience with academic pursuits.
Academic credentials include Registered ISO 9000 Specialist,
Assessor of Quality Systems, Certified Management Consultant
(FCMC), Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science
Specialization, and Certified Seminar Leader.
Since 1984, Dawn has consulted to public, private, and not-for-profit
tourism organizations on a wide range of assignments including:
strategic planning, business planning, market research and
planning, market and financial feasibility studies, community
tourism strategies, quality management, operational review,
and corporate training.
In 2002, Dawn co-created Alberta Attractions, an organization
dedicated to working with tourism attractions throughout Alberta
to improve sector performance (www.albertaattractions.com)
. This organization received the 2002 Alto Award
for Innovative Marketing from Travel Alberta and was
a Finalist of the 2003 National Awards fro Tourism Excellence
in the New Business category.
David
Russell is Principal of DMRussell Consulting
Inc., a tourism services firm formed in 2002 to provide senior
level advice to governments and the private sector on tourism
sector development and urban development and planning.
The principal, David Russell, has over 30 years experience,
most recently as Managing Director for KPMG Consulting LP's
international tourism consulting practice. Prior to joining
KPMG, he was Partner responsible for the tourism practice
for ARA Consulting Group Inc, one of Canada's leading consulting
firms specializing in international consulting services.
Directing over 200 tourism assignments in more 20 countries
in the last two decades, David's projects have ranged from
Cabinet level advice on tourism destination issues to directing
multi-disciplinary teams of up to 75 experts in preparing
tourism master plans. This experience has included extensive
feasibility work, conducted for domestic and international
clients on hotels and resorts, interpretive centres and museums,
tourism services, land use developments and technology initiatives.
Closely related to tourism is his land use planning experience,
including long range and waterfront planning for Halifax,
Canada where he directed the City's long ranging planning
unit, and various downtown and waterfront planning and development
projects in Canada, the US and the Caribbean.
Bennett
Brown is Principal of Bennett Brown and Associates
Inc., an operations based consulting company which provides
experienced, pragmatic assistance to tourism and hospitality
stakeholders. Formed in 1986 by Bennett Brown, a former partner
of the Vancouver, Canada based hospitality and tourism practice
of Laventhol and Horwarth, he gained his professional training
at the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, from which he
successfully graduated in hotel administration in 1962 and
practical experience managing major hotels across Canada.
The firm provides services in Canada, the United States,
Europe, and the Caribbean. Services include project management,
financial and investment analysis, contract negotiations,
operation reviews, market studies, education and training,
tourism and parks planning. Clients include the public sector,
entrepreneurs, lenders, funding agencies, institutions, professional
associations and Aboriginal groups.
